NOTICE: Ensure the outer surface of the spare tire is less than 13 inches away from the hole center of the receiver to fold up the bike rack. If your car has a side-opening tailgate, make sure the bottom edge of the spare tire or the door is more than 7.5 inches from the top edge of the receiver.

When using stainless steel fasteners, be sure to apply lubricating oil, such as edible oil, to the bolt. This helps prevent the stainless steel bolts and nuts from sticking during tightening.
